Cruxle ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Cruxle mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Cruxle:

• Account information — email address, display name, and username when you register
• Game data — puzzle results, scores, streaks, hints used, time per puzzle, and language preferences
• Group data — groups you create or join, invite codes, and leaderboard standings
• Purchase data — records of in-app purchases (Remove Ads, hint packs) processed through Google Play and RevenueCat
• Device information — device type, operating system version, and app version for crash reporting and compatibility

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To save your game progress, streak, and stats across devices
• To display leaderboards within your private groups
• To process and fulfill in-app purchases
• To send daily puzzle reminder notifications (only if you enable them)
• To improve the app and fix bugs

3. Third-Party Services

Cruxle uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Supabase — authentication and database storage. Privacy Policy
• RevenueCat — in-app purchase management. Privacy Policy
• Google AdMob — advertising (shown to free users who have not purchased Remove Ads). Privacy Policy
• Google Play / Apple App Store — app distribution and payment processing
• Anthropic Claude — AI-generated daily puzzle content (no personal user data is sent to Claude)

4. In-App Purchases

Cruxle offers the following optional purchases:

• Remove Ads — a one-time non-consumable purchase that permanently removes advertisements
• 5 Hints — a consumable pack of 5 in-game hints
• 20 Hints — a consumable pack of 20 in-game hints

All purchases are processed securely through Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS). We do not store your payment information. Consumable hint purchases are non-refundable once delivered to your account.

5. Advertising

Free users may see advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use device identifiers and usage data to show relevant ads. You can remove all ads permanently via the Remove Ads in-app purchase. Users in regions covered by GDPR or CCPA will be shown an ad consent prompt before personalized ads are displayed.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only as described above with our service providers (Supabase, RevenueCat, AdMob) to operate the app. We may disclose information if required by law.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our systems within 30 days. Anonymized aggregate statistics (e.g., overall puzzle completion rates) may be retained indefinitely.

8. Your Rights & Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, game history, group memberships, and all personal data.

9. Children's Privacy

Cruxle is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we use your device token to send daily puzzle reminders. You can disable notifications at any time from your device settings or within the app under Profile → Settings → Notifications.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
